Rebecca “Becky” Sillery Newsome, age 60, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, October 30, 2106.

Becky was born in Newport, NC on January 3, 1956 to the late Charles Doyne and Janice Turnell Sillery. Becky was a registered nurse and worked for many years in the birthing center at Halifax Memorial and Halifax Regional Medical Center until her retirement this year.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Amanda Newsome Tripp and her husband, Johnny, of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Corey Newsome and his wife, Tracey, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her grandson, John Cason Tripp.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Ken Arrington officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service until 8:30 p.m.
